This is an invitation to slow down, connect with nature, paint within the wisdom of the woods and immerse yourself in healing sounds and the forests’ frequency. Together, Bethan and I have created a retreat day that blends healing sounds with guided creativity in the heart of nature. Encouraging you to listen inward, paint how you feel and let nature hold the process. A nourishing day for your mind, body and soul. A space for all to try something different, surrounded by nature and community.

A bit about us: 

Lily from Tawny Studios brings an intuitive, nature led approach to painting, inspired by the quiet beauty and the subtle magic found in the small details we often overlook. Through gentle guidance, colour exploration and expression, she invites you to slow down, reconnect with the natural world and let creativity flow. 

Bethan from Rooted weaves grounding, restorative sound baths that encourage deep stillness and presence. Her soothing soundscapes create a calm space to settle the mind, heighten the senses and open you to the healing atmosphere of the woods.

Join us for a relaxed watercolour painting and sound healing retreat day inspired by the quiet beauty of the natural world. Deeply influenced by local wildlife, woodland scenes and the subtle magic of moss, mushrooms and sunsets, our work is a heartfelt reflection of emotion and the small wonders that often go unnoticed. Through gentle observation, colour exploration and guided techniques, you’ll create your own nature led artwork. Suitable for all abilities, this workshop offers a calm, welcoming space to slow down, reconnect with nature and let creativity flow.

Plan of the day: 

You will walk gently through a beautiful Beech woodland to meet us at the wooden Roundhouse. There will be tea and a warm fire to welcome you to this space. Once settled we will guide your through the basic watercolour techniques to get you comfortable with this wonderful material. From there, the rest of the day will unfold gently and intuitively - a true “Day for You”. You'll be led through soothing mediations and sound healing using a variety of instruments, helping you to soften, settle and reconnect with yourself and nature. Between painting sessions, we'll take short woodland walks to breathe in the forest air, gather inspiration and allow nature to lead the creative process. 

This is a space for expressing yourself freely, letting go of pressure and releasing perfection as you explore colour, flow and feeling on the page. The day is designed to be deeply nourishing - a blend of creativity, calm and connection. Leaving you feeling grounded, open and restored. Part of our intention and invitation for this day is to offer you a space where rest and slowness feels possible and welcomed. 

Important details:

Painting supplies will be provided but if you have your own watercolour sets then please bring them along!
No experience needed, just bring your open heart, curiosity and your love for nature! This course is suitable for all! Mixed gender event.
Please feel free to bring some lunch and snacks with you to keep you going, there will be tea making facilities.
Please dress for the weather, it likes to keep us guessing and we will be outside or undercover in the roundhouse for the entire day and may get a little cold when we are still painting. Sensible shoes too please! The terrain can be uneven underfoot and at times a little muddy so decent footwear is a good idea.
